Does anyone else have a mental tick-list of trends they don't think they're cool enough to pull off? For me, that's double denim, tracksuits and until recently, flares were on that list. I've always appreciated other women in flares and I've always envied how elongating they can look when paired with a killer pair of shoes / heels, but I'd always bypass them when racking the rails and reach for my trusty, and dare I say it, safe straight-leg numbers.

That was until I ordered a pair of black flared trousers from Mango. I don't know what came over me, it may have been too much caffeine or the fact that they were reduced to Β£11 in the sale - and I'm a sucker for a bargain - but I did it. I popped them in my basket and eagerly awaited their arrival. And now, if it was socially acceptable to do so, I wouldn't wash the goddamn things just so that I could wear them every single day. They're the perfect statement piece but they're also so versatile and make for a great transitional piece from day-to-night. IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL LOVE?!

Flares - and more specifically - cropped flares are back with a vengeance and I think are going to be pretty unavoidable this upcoming season. With that in mind, I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to showcase some of my favourite versions that are currently available in a range of materials. Go on, I dare you to try a pair...

So, after that, who's now tempted - or shall I say, brave enough, to join the flared gang?! I promise we don't bite!
