SPRING FASHION PICKS FOR 2018
It's meant to be Spring as of next week, but I write this as snow is oh so casually settling on the ground - something doesn't seem quite right. Before I start harping on about the weather in true Brit style, let's move on to what you're all here for; the promise of clothes that'll make us feel like some sunshine is on its way. PLEASE BE ON ITS WAY!!!
I'm a sucker for all things Spring / Summer; florals, bright colours, little sundresses that will allow my body to acquire some well needed Vitamin D after months of hibernation. Don't get me wrong, I love Winter fashion too - me and coats have a real love affair - but there's only so much black, grey and navy I can face before I start yearning a bit of 'S/S pazazz'!
With that in mind, I decided to make the risky decision to hit Oxford Street last week. Risky for many reasons but predominantly because I generally get just a little bit carried away and spend an extortionate amount of money - which, as expected, is exactly what I did. Buuuuuut to make myself feel less guilty about it, I thought I'd share some of the things I bought - as well as some of the things I somehow resisted - in the hope that you too will spend a fair amount of money and we can bond over it.
This is actually a replacement to a different white dress I own because that one has got a little tatty. A white linen dress is such a staple for me for S/S and it's such a versatile piece! Check out this Instagram post to see how I'd style a simple white dress.
I've accepted the fact that no matter how many fun patterned trousers I buy, I will always feel much more comfortable in a pair of jeans and so in my head, that justifies adding another pair to the collection haha. I can't wait to rock this pair with a simple white tee and a blazer!
I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of black trousers for a while now, I've been looking for something classic but with a twist and that's definitely what I've found in these Mango ones. They're also an amazing fit - great on the behind *a-okay emoji*
This pick is definitely a bit (a lot) out of my comfort zone but I think that's always a good thing. Fashion for me is all about sometimes pushing my boundaries and finding new styles and shapes that I love! I'm likely to pair this dress with something simple like a white blouse or a striped long sleeve top!
I'm a sucker for anything spotty at the moment, it's actually becoming a bit of an obsession. I just couldn't resist this top and the pink looks so great with blue denim. Such a great combo!
It only took me approx 4 months to pluck up the courage to jump on the bandwagon but here we are, officially onboard. I'm not sure if I just want to fit in or if I was seeking for something to allow me to hide flat 3-day-hair.
I've really been on the hunt for some nice tops to wear with jeans because that's definitely been a gap in my wardrobe for a while now. This pink cami is perfect for S/S and would look great under a white blazer!
Another great basic I desperately needed in my wardrobe. I love the floaty style and it'll look great paired with so many different things, as well as being a nice layering piece when it's a bit colder - in true England style.
I've been looking for a statement blazer for a while and although I wouldn't usually go for something as bold as green, I love the deep shade and think it works really nicely with so many pieces in my wardrobe. I really love injecting colour through classic pieces and styles because they don't seem as woah!
Miss Selfridge isn't somewhere I'd usually shop at but I took a little sneaky peek inside and was really impressed with what they had in store. I couldn't resist these three summer dresses. You'll notice that all three have a wrap style shape because I find that that's what's most flattering on my body type.
ROLL ON SPRING / SUMMER!!!!
P.S. I'd love to know what your favourite piece is!
