THE DESTINATIONS ON MY 2018 BUCKET LIST
I love to travel. I love immersing myself into new cultures, new ways of living, meeting new people and of course - trying out new culinary treats. Sadly, last year I didn't get to travel as much as I would've like because I invested my money into other things... buuuuuut this year there's definitely a few more places I want to tick off my list.
Some may say I'm a little high maintenance so I've never really been a backpack and hostel kind of girl. I'd much rather have a nice hotel room with plump pillows, room service and unlimited mini toiletries. Oh and of course a working and accessible shower. In fact, the ultimate dream is all inclusive with HolidayGems.co.uk! YAS YAS YAS!
I've been fortunate enough to have travelled quite a lot of Europe by this point - read my top 5 destinations in Europe blog post here - but there are a couple of places I'd love to tick off my list this year. Some places are brand new but also a couple of places I'd love to revisit. Realistically, I don't think I'll be able to get a massive holiday in this year but I'd love to do some long weekend trips.
I've been to Paris a handful of times but I absolutely adore it. It's my favourite walking city; I could happily spend countless hours just strolling around and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Oh and stopping off at a boulangerie of course. The first few times were more so about seeing the sights - the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe etc but I'd love to go back to explore the hidden treasures.
Milan has been on my bucket list for ages and so I'd love to tick it off. Not only do I want to go for the great food and architecture but also for the high fashion. It seems as though the city encompasses all of the culture I love most - art, fashion, design, and music. Plus any excuse to tuck into a load of carbs.
Santorini looks absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I went to Rhodes a few years ago and fell in love with every aspect of Greece, the slow-pace, the friendly people and the food was truly outstanding so I'd really love to see a bit more of it. A few days sprawled out on a sun-bed sounds heavenly right now. Yes please. Plus it'd make the most lovely of Instgram photo backdrops... (all in the name of work, eh)
I've only been to Edinburgh once when I was really really young so I don't remember much but I've heard so many people rave about it over the years. Seeing as it's so close, I think it'd be quite an easy one to tick off at some point this year!
Where would you like to go this year?!
