A SUDDEN SHOE ADDICTION HAS OVERCOME ME
Anyone that knows me in real life can vouch that I've never really been that fussed about shoes. Of course, I've worn them... don't worry, I'm not one of those, but I never really invested in them and would tend to wear the same pair over and over again until the soles sadly pretty much crumbled away.
However, my god has that changed. I don't know what's come over me but I've suddenly got the shoe bug - big time. I'm not sure if its because I'm becoming more confident in my own personal style but I've noticed that a pair of shoes can really transform an outfit. Who would've thought, eh. Even a fairly minimal outfit such as jeans and a t-shirt is instantly spruced up with a pair of statement shoes. It's basically my way of dressing casually yet still being able to call myself a fashion blogger haha.
I thought I'd justify my obsession by sharing them with you because then I can say its all in the name of work. Cheeky, right. You'll notice that the majority of the pairs have a slight heel because I'm all about that elongated legs life - a heel really does work wonders.
You'll also notice that Topshop are absolutely KILLING IT in the shoe game and about 90% of my shoe collection are from there. They're all so stylish yet still comfortable which is a major plus point because I'm totally that girl who'll whinge for hours about sore, painful feet. Anyway, enough of that, let's crack on to the good stuff! As always, if the shoes are still available, I'll make sure to link them in the titles below. If not, I'll link some alternatives for ya.
TOPSHOP BLACK PLATFORM SANDALS
I think these might be the oldest pair of shoes in my collection and if you follow me on Instagram, you would've seen them many, many times. Every summer I gravitate toward them because they look so good with everything! I really like a block heel and the straps really help to elongate my legs. The one thing I will say however is that because they are quite sturdy, its pretty easy to topple over in them - I speak from experience. Buuuuut what's a bit of tripping up eh when you look fabulous haha.
ZARA WHITE TRAINERS
I genuinely don't know what I did without these. Yes, they kinda sorta look like bowling shoes but hey, I love bowling so I roll with it... (see what I did there? haha) They're definitely my go-to pair of shoes - which you can probably tell by how worn they are - because they go with pretty much everything. I've thrown them on with almost every single item in my wardrobe; dresses, skirts, jeans... they just work. I will say though, I did once wear them with a white summer dress and there were very unintentional tennis vibes happening. I also think that the red back detail give them a bit of summin' summin' and we all know that I'm obsessed with red so of course I'm a fan!
These are a new purchase and I'm genuinely in love. I've been lusting over mules for a while but never really knew if I'd get the wear out of them so when I spotted these in M&S for a ludicrously reasonable price, I decided to give them a go! Yes, you read right... M&S!!! Not just for mums ya know. There were quite a few different colour options, including black, but I'm really into coloured shoes at the moment and these have definitely filled the gap of a pink pair of shoes in my wardrobe. I've seen mules styled in so many ways and I love that they look equally as good with a summer dress as well as a pair of denim jeans. Can't wait to style them more!
These are just bloody beautiful. Serious *eyeheart emoji* going on. I love every single thing about them, from the suede to the buckles... a big YES from me! I know they're probably not for everyone because there's quite a lot going on but paired with the right things, they look really good! I think these will also be a great transitional shoe into Autumn because of the rusty red colour! Plus it looks like red is staying strong in the colour game.
TOPSHOP BLACK ESPADRILLES
I actually own a pair of flat espadrilles from New Look which I like but don't wear too often because although they're super comfy, they're not the most flattering shoe. So when I saw these, I knew they were the one. Firstly, the wedge is just the right size as it gives height (obviously) but they're still easy to walk around in so can be worn on a daily basis. I really love how they look paired with floaty summer dresses but I think they'll also be great as a transitional piece as well because they're a good in between shoe when it's too warm for boots but too cold for sandals. No freezing toes, thank you. They're such a timeless, classic shoe so I'm sure I'll be wearing them for years to come!
P.S. As you can see, I tend to tie mine up at the back because I think that looks much more flattering.
Oh hello sunshine. These are very similar in shape and style to my black ones above but are actually a hell of a lot more comfortable - no falling over just yet. I was instantly drawn to the colour and think yellow is such a lovely shade on so many skin tones! As silly as it may sound, they really do just brighten up my day...
So there ya go, there's a roundup of my most worn shoes of recent. Which pair are your favs?
