NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS UPDATE
If blogging has taught me one thing, it's taught me to track and reflect on my progress. I've also noticed that I'm trying to make sure I'm doing so in all aspects of my life - not in a lets freak out kind of way but just acknowledging it y'know.
In that spirit and seeing as we're now over half way through the year, I thought it'd be a good idea to take a look at how I'm doing in regards to the new years resolutions I made at the beginning of the year. I've never really taken them that seriously before but this year I've made quite a conscious effort to make sure I'm at least TRYING to adhere to them. So, here goes.
Firstly, go HERE to check out what I first had to say in January and what I hoped to achieve so you can get some back story.
STOP BEING SO STUBBORN
Some might disagree but I feel like I'm getting SLIGHTLY better at this. Yes, I'm still a bit stubborn and get angry about perhaps trivial things but I think I let things go a lot quicker than I once did. I'm also now getting better at putting my pride to one side and apologising when I'm the one in the wrong. Heading in the right direction I'd say...
TRY NOT TO COMPARE AS MUCH
This is pretty damn hard and has got even harder as I've entered the blogging world but I think the older I'm getting, I'm embracing who I am more and am accepting any flaws I have and so I'm not needing to compare as much because I'm generally happier with who I am.
Hasn't been that much laughter to be honest, or as much as I would've liked but I have high hopes for the next six months. Gonna try and pull it out of the bag!
SAVE SOME CASH
I'm pretty proud of myself for this one because I've made serious steps in terms of saving money. I've adjusted my living expenses a bit this year so am saving money that way and also I finally opened my 'help to buy' ISA. And, wait for it... I actually understand how it all works which is just a complete bonus.
FIND A HOBBY
Blogging has definitely become my new hobby / second job and I absolutely love it buuuuut it is very time consuming and so I think I'd like to maybe join some sort of sporting club soon so that I can have a proper hobby. I used to play tennis when I was younger so I think that could be a good one, even if its just once or twice a week.
I've done some travelling but not to anywhere new which is a shame so I'd say the only really educating myself I've done is through the blog. I've somehow got my head around things like Google Analytics and SEO which I never would've had a clue about before.
START USING MY BOOTS ADVANTAGE CARD
Mind my language but I AM F**KING SMASHING THIS ONE!!!!! I've kept my Boots card on me at all times and have used it consistently. I think I've saved up quite a lot of points actually so should be able to treat myself to something fairly soon. Yay free stuff!
Let's see how the rest of the year goes...
