It couldn’t be more ironic that I’m writing this as it’s chucking it down with rain but hey ho, that’s good ol’ England for you. Beginning of June and causal torrential rain. Bladdy brilliant.

After months of what seems like hibernation in utter darkness, the sunshine is slowly starting to appear. The days are longer, we’re tempted by a jug of Pimms or even an Aperol spritz and the rooftop bars of London are bustling. What better way to embrace the new season than with a new pair of sunglasses?

But let’s be honest, they’re not just a seasonal trend, they’re an all-year-round must. Anyone that knows me in real life or follows me on Instagram will know that I’m a very big fan of sunglasses and I rock them all year round. Not only are they great at the obvious, protecting your eyes from the sun’s rays, they’re even better at hiding under eye bags after a boozy night. Two birds one stone right there.

There are countless shapes on the market; from angular cat-eye and butterfly shapes to this season’s most-wanted – and also most-Instagrammed – round frames.

Personally, I’ve always remained very loyal to Ray Bans because I know I can rely on them for quality sunglasses with classic shapes that’ll serve me well for seasons to come. As all designer pairs are, Ray Bans can be fairly pricey and are a bit of an investment, so I am also known to dabble in the high street for more trend focused pairs.

Whether you’re looking to invest in a pair for years to come – try not to break or lose em – or whether you’re the type of person who has accidentally sat on countless pairs of designer sunglasses and are no longer trusted, I’m going to outline my favourite picks and hopefully there should be something here to suit every face shape and budget.
