THE GIRL BEHIND THE LAPTOP

Hey everyone! I hope you don’t mind but I wanted to do something a touch different today. I've been blogging for about two-ish months now and in that time you've gotten a bit of an insight into my world; where and what I like to eat, what I wear, where I shop, what my favourite spots in London are etc but I thought it was about time you got to know me as a person a bit more.

I read a lot of blogs myself and although I’m all about the pretty pictures and enabling links to where I can go and spend my money, the personal, chatty posts are often my favourite to read.

As I write away, I often forget that so many of you are absolute strangers. *HEY to you guys!* But yeah, I only share small snippets of my life with you and there's sooooo much you don't yet know but my following has grown quite a lot in the past month and I want my readers, you all, to feel like you know the girl behind the laptop a bit more.

Here goes, I really hope you enjoy...

---

Where’s your favourite place to eat in London?

Oooooooh this is a tough one. Anyone that knows me in real life or follows me on Instagram (@jcjlifestyle) knows that I’m a massive foodie and LOVE eating out but I feel like I could happily eat at Busaba Eathai every day of the week. Thai calamari for breakfast? Sure thing!

What’s your star sign?

I’m a Cancer – summer baby over here.

What film could you watch over and over again?

Oh, there are so many. I’m a sucker for typical ‘chick flicks’; Bridget Jones, Notting Hill, Bridesmaids etc. But then, on the other hand, I shock people when I say that Silence of the Lambs is also one of my all time favourites. Such a classic!

Do you speak any other languages?

Yes, my family are from all over so I’m lucky to have learnt a few languages – Spanish, Italian, German and Gujarati. I'm really keen to learn a few more though, I think languages are so important and come in handy in so many aspects of life.

Which blogs do you consistently read?

I have such an addictive personality so when I find a blog / youtube channel I enjoy and connect with, I can easily sit there for hours on end reading and watching every single upload. My absolutely favourites are these babes; The Anna Edit, Lily Pebbles, Hannah Gale, Poppy Deyes, Tartan Brunette & Emma Louise!

What drink do you order at a bar?

My go-to is a G&T but if it’s a cocktail bar then I tend to go for anything gin related or a classic Long Island Iced Tea (… the latter doesn’t tend to end well though!)

What’s one make-up product you couldn’t live without?

My Shu Uemura eyelash curlers! For the size of them, they cost a bomb and a half but they work absolute wonders. I feel like I look a bit dead without curling my eyelashes.

What’s your most listened to song on iTunes?

Tracy Chapman – Fast Car.

How would you describe your own personal style?

My personal style is a bit of everything, my wardrobe is a bit of a mix-match of loads of different styles and trends from the past few years. As I'm getting older, I'm leaning more toward cleaner, chicer and classic styles and colours. Enough rambling, in a nutshell; feminine and chic with a little edge.

Who’s your style icon?

Olivia Palermo, forever and always.

What was the last thing you bought?

I’m guessing we mean other than food because y’know, I’m ALWAYS buying food. Other than that, I bought a suede pink biker jacket over the weekend and I never want to take it off.

What’s your favourite thing to take photos of?

I mean, this is a tough one between houses / doors and food. I think food wins though because it means I get to stuff my face whilst still feeling productive because ‘it’s totally all in the name of the blog / Instagram.’

Where would you love to travel to one day, and what’s been your favourite place that you’ve been to so far?

The Maldives looks absolutely heavenly and I'm desperate to go. Does anyone want to offer me an all inclusive free trip?! I've been lucky enough to travel quite a lot, personally and with work, but so far my favourite has to be Marrakech. It was out of this world in so many ways and such a culture shock – in a good way. Check out my travel diary here.

What’s your favourite outfit to wear?

Do PJs count? If not, for daytime… I love a classic jeans, striped t-shirt and bomber combination. For the evening, a sleek, tailored jumpsuit and heels is always a winner.

If the world was to end tomorrow, what would you choose to have as your last 3 course meal?

I'm fully aware that these totally don’t go together but here goes... Starter: Dishoom Calamari. Main Course: Paella from La Boqueria Food Market in Barcelona. Dessert:  Peanut Butter Fudge S'mores from Jackson & Rye! I'm salivating now... darn it.
