MY TOP FOUR LIPSTICKS
Lipstick is such a beautiful tool; it can not only transform your face but also your mood. There have been multiple days where I’ve woken up feeling ‘off’ and in need of a little pick-me-up; a touch of red lipstick does absolute wonders.
I have built up a bit of a collection over the years and tend to put a special one on birthday / Christmas lists. When shopping for myself I tend to stick to high-street options and could spend hours in Boots or Superdrug swatching different shades.
I’ve somehow dwindled the list down to my top four, varying in formula and shades:
As one of the cheaper lipsticks in my collection, I'm always impressed at how it compares in standard to some of my higher end alternatives. This liquid lipstick is definitely a 'your lips but better' shade; it glides on easily and smoothly, takes seconds to dry into a semi-matte finish and it lasts all day long. Great as an every day lip choice.
I had been lusting after this lipstick for a long time and when I finally got my hands on it, it didn't disappoint at all. It's a very wearable shade for every day and has a touch of sheen in its finish which makes it very flattering on the lips. The formula is creamy and hydrating which makes it very comfortable to wear... and how can you resist the gorgeous packaging?!
This is my go to lipstick for when I want to 'wow' with my makeup; it's definitely a statement. It looks a bit scary in the tube but once applied, it's absolutely gorgeous and suits almost every skin tone. It's most definitely one of the most pigmented lipsticks in my collection and only needs one swipe to get it fully opaque. It can run a bit at the edges though so I'd suggest using a lip liner.
I absolutely adore this collection; L'oreal were inspired by a few of their brand ambassadors at the time and created shades to suit each skin tone. I have a few shades from the collection but my favourite is definitely Eva's as its the most flattering on my skin tone. It's an orange based red with great pigment and has the perfect balance of matte and satin as the finish is very velvety on the lips.
I'm always on the hunt for a new lipstick so let's see which I add to the collection next...
P.S. Have you tried any of the above? What are your favourite lipsticks in your collection?
