TRAVEL / ALTERNATIVE DATE IDEAS IN LONDON

Drinks, dinner, drinks, dinner... it can get monotonous very quickly. I've spent years dating on and off and even when in a relationship, I've always been keen to try and keep it interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I love eating out and I also love a cheeky cocktail (or five) but whether its your first date or you've been married for ten years, it's always good to spice things up and experience new and different things with your partner.

With Valentines Day on the horizon, I thought I'd give you some alternative date ideas. I count myself very lucky to live in London as there's constantly something new on the scene to do but whether you live in London, or in the middle of nowhere, hopefully the below will give you some inspiration.

SWINGERS CRAZY GOLF

I've gone to swingers to play crazy golf a few times and it's such a good laugh. The vibe is really cool, there are several bars and food stalls - it's just a great all rounder.

SING-A-LONG @ PRINCE CHARLES THEATRE

I'm the worlds worst singer but it doesn't stop me and it never will. I've been to a sing-a-long Grease film showing with my girl friends and it was such a fun experience... I've got my eye on the Rocky Horror version for an upcoming date night.

BOWLING @ ALL STAR LANES

I looooooove bowling and get so competitive when playing. If you want a bit more of an 'adult' experience, All Star Lanes is bowling but with less of the kids and more of the added extras - great tunes, food and booze! What more could you want?

FLIGHT CLUB

Another option for you competitive folk out there; Flight Club is darts with a twist. It's a recent opening with interactive, fun games and real-time scoring to spur you on as you play. Darts has never been so cool.

JAMIE OLIVER COOKERY CLASS

I'm always keen to expand on my cookery skills and Jamie Oliver's Cookery School have so many different variations of classes; there'll be something to suit everyone's taste. After the interactive class, you'll get to eat the fruits of your labor with a nice glass of bubbly.

BOUNCE

Bounce is a fun, social hub made for drinking, dining and ping-ponging. It's such a fab experience and is great not only for a date but also for catch up with friends and also post-work drinks.

BOROUGH MARKET FOOD TOUR

If you want an alternative to a traditional lunch or dinner, why not try out a food tour? I've done this Borough Market food tour and got to sample different tasters from the stalls. Not only will you get to stuff your face but you'll also get an insight into the history of the market and surrounding areas. Delicious AND educational!
