FASHION / CLOSET CONFIDENTIAL TAG
I'm nosy by nature so of course tags and 'get to know me' posts are my favourite to watch and read. With that in mind, I've seen this tag floating around a lot so thought I'd give it a shot! I hope you enjoy it and find it interesting to see what's lurking in my wardrobe (let's hope no monsters.)
Because we all love 'pretty' pictures; anything marked with an asterisk means there's an image to demonstrate below.
What is the oldest item in your closet?
The oldest item I have in my wardrobe is a gorgeous dress from All Saints*. I bought it for NYE in 2011 and it's such a timeless piece that I don't think I'll ever be able to part with it. I actually wore it recently on my travels to Marrakech.
What is the newest item in your closet?
I hit the January sales with my mum recently and came away with a few pieces that were missing from my wardrobe. One of which being a grey polo-neck jumper. I can't believe I didn't own one before!
What is the most expensive item in your closet?
The most expensive item in my wardrobe is a dress from French Connection*. My dad bought it for me to wear for my 21st birthday night out and then I also wore it when I graduated from University so it holds some very fond memories. I still try and wear it as often as possible and it's great for party season as it's a proper sparkly number.
What was the biggest bargain?
Get ready for an unnecessarily long story. Years and years ago when sale shopping in Topshop, I found a black skinny waist belt just thrown on the floor. I'd been on the lookout for a plain one for a while (this was the time when belts were super chunky and had diamontes on them) so instantly nabbed it. When I got to the till, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it had gone down in the sale to 20p - proper bargain and it's still going strong!
What was the biggest waste of money?
I'm not sure I'd say they're a waste however I do have quite a lot of pairs of REALLY high heels that I don't wear anymore. I'm quite a tall girl as it is and for some reason tend to find boyfriends who are only a few inches taller than me so I always feel like too much of a giant when I'm stood next to them.
What is the most affordable / cheapest item (that you use regularly) in your closet?
A simple black strappy vest from Topshop*. I've re-bought the same one multiple times over the years because I seriously don't think I can live without it as it's such a key piece in my wardrobe and is so versatile.
What are your three favourite items right now in your closet?
A floral bomber from Zara*, a star print top from Primark and the dress I wore to my most recent Christmas party*.
What is your favourite piece that you've gotten as a gift?
It'd have to be either my Abbot & Lyon watch or my Daniel Wellington watch, both are very special to me.
What is the most comfortable item in your closet?
Apart from my PJs? I have a striped long sleeve loose fitting roll-neck from Zara which I've worn about 300 times over the past year because it's so goddam comfy and easy to throw on.
What is the most outrageous / colourful item in your closet (that you absolutely love)?
I have a leopard print clutch bag that I love but I'd say it has to be my New Look blue jumpsuit*. It's a real statement piece.
What is the most uncomfortable item (but you would take the pain because you love it) in your closet?
I bought a pair of fuschia pink heels for my last birthday. They're absolutely gorgeous but absolutely kill. I feel like my poor feet are still suffering over six months later.
Where do you shop the most at?
Without a doubt, Zara. I can't get enough.
Pick your favourite black item and your favourite white item in your closet.
My favourite black item would have to be my trusty Topshop Jamie jeans* and my favourite white item would have to be my Whistles linen shirt*. Both classic and timeless pieces.
Something in your closet that you love but everyone else hates?
I own a striped dress* which is perfect - in my eyes - for holidays. It's such a chuck on, 'let's head to the pool', number but everyone else seems to despise it. It is a touch tent-like without a belt but who cares, I'm still going to rock it!
Something in your closet that you're excited to wear soon.
I'm such a summer baby so can't wait to rock all my little summer dresses and playsuits.
I hope that gave you a bit more of an insight into my wardrobe and personal style.
